In the first part of this article, it was shown how to create a Teams tab app to access a website without leaving Teams. In this second part, it explains how to pin that app to the left sidebar of Teams so that it is installed and available for all users.

To do this, you will configure the Teams app setup policy. These policies are tools that allow you to control how apps are managed and deployed within the platform. They allow, for example, pinning specific apps to the left sidebar of Teams so that they are available and accessible to all users in the organization, thus facilitating access and collaboration on relevant tools and websites.

This task must be performed by a user with the Teams Administrator role.

In the Teams admin center, go to Teams Apps > Setup policies in the sidebar.

Depending on the group to which the app you want to pin is directed, you can create a new policy or edit an existing one. In this case, to make it available to all users, you will edit the global policy. This policy applies to all users who are not assigned another specific policy.

Within the global policy settings, the Upload custom apps option must be enabled. To prevent users from modifying the apps or the order in which they appear pinned in the sidebar, the User pinning option must be disabled.

Next, install the app for all users, add it to the sidebar, and set the order in which you want it to appear. Save the changes and confirm that you want to modify the policy.

The policy is now ready. From that moment on, all users to whom the global policy applies will see the app in their Teams in the established order.
