Implementation of Power Apps at MadridSolar.org a project of Madrid Futuro.
The Challenge
Madrid Futuro, a private non-profit association, is launching MadridSolar.org, with the aim of promoting energy self-consumption in the neighbourhood communities of Madrid.
MadridSolar.org is a platform where all the necessary information is made available to interested citizens so that they can make their decisions with confidence and transparency throughout the whole process, accompanying them from the first contact to the final decision.
Thus, MadridSolar.org approaches the reality of the communities, detecting and raising possible blockages, with the ultimate goal of achieving climate neutrality as part of the Roadmap of the Madrid City Council.
The Journey
The proposal includes a Power App that is accessed by both the energy companies and the MadridSolar.org team in a totally secure way by profiles; the database originates from a form on the MadridSolar.org website itself and both parties are kept informed of changes and updates to the phases that the neighbourhood communities are going through thanks to notifications via Power Automate.
The methodology used for the implementation of the project is based on a good two-way communication between the Madrid Solar – axazure team, which has resulted in a fast and effective implementation of the solution in a few weeks.
The Arrival
Once the solution has been put into production, the energy companies collaborating with the MadridSolar.org project are able to autonomously manage the cases of citizens interested in energy self-consumption in their homes, always with the support of the Madrid Solar team.
All communications with the presidents and administrators of the properties, as well as the data on the properties collected through an online form, are centralised on the platform; together with easy navigation through the platform, this project speeds up the process of implementing energy self-consumption, helping the capital to become a more sustainable city and a benchmark in sustainable energy.
CONCLUSION
The Microsoft Power Platform, through the Power Apps, allows you to manage records and processes of different types in a simple and personalised way. Its navigation is intuitive, so that end users see their work streamlined from the very first moment.
In this project, we have also managed, on the one hand, to centralise communications and activities with the residents’ associations; and on the other, to allow the MadridSolar.org team to supervise the processes at all times, as well as to control their phases..
